Hillside Brewery are a family owned and run brewery producing a range of delicious beers and a craft lager. This micro-brewery is powered completely by green energy – solar power, air & ground source heat pumps which is unique for a brewery.
Hillside are committed to consistency and quality, selecting the best local for their heritage English hop varieties, as well as carefully selected ‘New World’ ones. They have a classic collection of beers which are a modern take on traditional styles of beer and a regularly changing ‘Limited Series’. The Limited Series are beer styles which are brewed to be creatively different, bringing something truly innovative whilst remaining solidly traditional
“Hillside are only a small brewery and are very proud of that, because they love and care about what they do and are dedicated to consistency and quality.
And it is that creation, that passion to enjoy another great beer that keeps them getting up in the morning (although the view does help!). They love what they do and, to be honest, the people they do it with and who they do it for.
Be that a cask going to a pub locally or further afield or for a group coming in for a brewery tour. The enthusiasm they have for producing great tasting beer is more than enough for them to head into the brewery and get the mash tun going!
The range is evolving as with our customers likes and, ok let’s be honest, what they don’t! They have a great core range of beers being brewed currently, and we are adding beers to their Limited Series on an ongoing basis.
Now all we ask is take a look around at their beers, give them a try (you won’t be disappointed), book on to a tour or use their great venue to host an event – whatever it is they just want you to like what they do and let us know what you think as well.
The business was founded in 2014 with a simple mission statement – create a brewery that is part of the local community. But they mean more than just being based locally and saying “we love the local area”.
They mean employing local people who can spend money in local businesses. They mean buying local whenever and wherever possible. They also mean supporting and promoting complimentary businesses and venues.
They know that if you take a little wander down to their lovely little brewery that you will have a damn good time. They have great pubs on their doorstep with great rooms and the Forest of Dean a stone’s throw away – now what’s not to like about all of that!
They are constantly striving to reduce their waste; in the brewing process, in the shop, with their packaging and from their office.
I am not saying they are perfect, but we can see that they do their very best and will continue to seek ways of reducing waste and increasing our efficiencies – all while continuing to produce the delicious beer that they have done for years!
