Sustainably brewing since 1993, Hobsons is an independent brewery in Shropshire. Well regarded with a strong reputation for brewing quality real ale in cask, keg and bottle.

About Hobsons Brewery

Hobsons was founded in 1993 by Nick Davis and his Dad Jim. With Nick at the helm, Hobsons is now made up of a team of 22 people. Based in the Shropshire market town of Cleobury Mortimer, a stroll over nearby Clee Hill was where the name was decided.

About the Range

Since launching their first beer Best Bitter in 1993, Hobsons has expanded their range across cask, keg and bottle. The core bottle range includes pale ales, golden ales, stouts, porters and more. Seasonal specials are also frequent and an opportunity for Hobsons to release styles that standout from their core range with experimental hops.

Sustainability

Hobsons beers are brewed using local ingredients with a backbone of sustainable technologies. With a wind turbine on site not only are you enjoying great beer but it’s being produced by green energy; Windy Wendy generates one third of the electricity needed to brew Hobsons beer. SIBA has recognised our green efforts winning Best Green Business in 2010 and again in 2021.
