Poulton Hill Estate is a small, family-run vineyard situated in the heart of the idyllic Cotswold countryside. Poulton Hill carefully hand harvested their first vintage in October 2012. Using the traditional method, they produce highly exclusive, multi award-winning Cotswold still and sparkling wines. The vineyard comprises of 8,800 vines, planted on the warm and sunny south-facing slopes of the estate. The grape varieties range from the white Bacchus, Seyval Blanc and Phoenix to the red Pinot Noir, Regent and Rondo, all of which complement the climate, geography and soil perfectly. They are carefully blended and balanced to create an exquisite range of white, rosé and sparkling wines and spirits.
Part of an exciting movement of English winemakers, Poulton Hill Estate was founded in 2010 and is situated in the idyllic Cotswold countryside, near the Roman town of Cirencester and Regency spa town of Cheltenham.
Our 8,800 vines have been planted on the warm and sunny south-facing slopes of Poulton Hill Estate. These vines can produce up to 20,000 bottles of wine a year and we also produce English spirits, from grapes harvested by hand.
These range from the white Bacchus, Seyval Blanc and Phoenix to the red Pinot Noir, Regent and Rondo. The grape varieties complement our climate, geography and soil perfectly. These are carefully blended and balanced by our experienced contract winemaker and distiller to create our range of white, rosé, red and sparkling wines and spirits.
We have a responsibility to be not just environmentally conscious but also environmentally active. It is a responsibility we take seriously, from the Babydoll sheep that graze the orchard to the wildflowers we plant to help our insect population.
We are home to two flocks of rare-breed sheep, Jacob’s Sheep and Olde English Babydoll Southdown Sheep, two of the oldest breeds in England. Our Babydoll sheep are perfect for keeping the area around the vines tidy without nibbling the grapes – and they fertilize the soil as they graze.
