Reverend Hubert’s original spirits are a genuine recreation of recipes that were first created over 100 years ago. Many years later, the Reverend’s Great Grandson, Thomas Lester found his own passion for crafting liqueurs after taking inspiration from his honeymoon to the Amalfi coast. After months of experimentation at home and with some help from an industry expert, Thomas founded a delightful range of superb seasonal spirits and gin liqueurs, all of which are beautifully branded in 50cl bottles, inspired by and designed with his beloved Great Grandfather in mind.

Reverend Hubert’s original spirit is a genuine recreation of a recipe that was first created over 100 years ago.
The Reverend Hubert Bell Lester (1868 -1929) was a charming and caring man who also enjoyed a good party, and in 1904 produced a popular winter gin liqueur that he shared amongst army comrades and the congregation of his local church in Nottinghamshire.
Many years later, the Reverend’s Great Grandson, Thomas Lester found his own passion for crafting liqueurs after taking inspiration from his honeymoon to the Amalfi coast. He began experimenting at home using locally foraged ingredients and shared the fruits of his labour at family gatherings. During one such event, Thomas’ aunt shared a beaten-up WWI hip flask along with the original recipe for Reverend Hubert’s Winter Gin Liqueur.
After discovering the story of his Great Grandfather, Thomas decided to recreate the original formula, making small tweaks to suit the modern drinker with help from drinks expert Joe Wadsack.
It was at this moment when Reverend Hubert’s range of spirits was born!
