The Uncommon makes award-winning English wines and spritzers so fresh and delicious some can’t believe they’re English. Carefully created to thrive in cans, they have a carbon footprint 79% lower than glass bottles, with no compromise on quality.

Introducing The Uncommon

The Uncommon was founded in 2017 by Henry Connell and Alex Thraves as the very first in the UK to make wine in cans. They realised there was a gap in the market for a more sustainable and convenient alternative to traditional glass bottles.

The Uncommon’s vineyard is situated on the Kent Downs, near Faversham. From its local production, to its low carbon footprint cans and carbon positive canning process, The Uncommon is committed to making unbelievably good bubbly, with quality and sustainability cultivated at their core.

The Range

Meet the locals – Gerald, Eleanor, Peggy and Alfie!

Gerald is a Bubbly White Wine Bacchus and Chardonnay, and Eleanor, a Bubbly Rosé Pinot Noir. The Uncommon also has its two low alcohol spritzers – Peggy is a Mint & Jasmine Rosé Spritzer, and Alfie an Elderflower & Cucumber White Wine Spritzer.

Sustainability

As the UK’s first Certified B Corp winemaker back in 2022, The Uncommon has sustainability cultivated at its core.

It works in partnership with the Kent Wildlife Trust with the mission to create a Wilder Kent in areas around the vineyard, where nature is in recovery and being valued as a critical human life support system.

The Uncommon has committed 2% of its revenue to support Kent Wildlife Trust’s mission to wild 30% of the county by 2030.
