Vigornia Wine is a small vine growing partnership producing fine quality English wine from a small 1000 vine vineyard near Pershore in the Avon Valley, Worcestershire.
Vigornia (the Roman Name for Worcester) Wine arose from a discussion between friends about the feasibility of producing world class wines from the soil and climate of the Avon Vale.
David Timson has had a life long passion for wine and viticulture. Mike Jones had some available land and had been involved in an organic fruit-tree business called Walcot Organic Nursery Ltd. They both successfully completed the Principles of Vine-growing course at Plumpton College, the UK centre for wine education, before planting the vineyard in 2010. The vineyard consists classic varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir together with the more fruity styled Bacchus and Ortega, we have so far produced three vintages of a superb Sparkling Brut with the English Regional Sparkling Wine designation which has won silver medals in both the UKVA and Mercian Vineyards Association competitions. In some years we also produce a fresh, fruity, still dry white wine which is also a medal winner.
